My solution for that is to ditch the projector and setup a PC with Wunderworks and a shared monitor for the players to move their tokens themselves. I've got my notes on questions but I'll not post those until I actually RTFM or watch the tutorials:) -my one hiccup is that I found out that I could run two instances of Maptool on the same PC instead of my solution of remoting into my desktop from my laptop and displaying the player's screen from that. All-in-all I took a little while to get used to the tool but it was still faster than prepping the maps physically or drawing them as we played. Since this was my first time really using Maptools I was learning on the fly and most of the skills I'd learned from the other apps worked. Note that this is a projector issue and not an issue with Maptools. I had them use their minis on the table but that presented issues if I had to scroll the map (I'm going to be purchasing a shorter throw projector or some other solution - see below). I didn't need the bells-and-whistles for a face-to-face game, just something to me to use as the DM for the maps and to project the maps onto a table.Ī quick stop at the hardware store for some 48" zip ties to attach the projector vertically to the ceiling and voila - Maptools with projector up and running. With time running out I went and checked out one of our offices Benq projectors and downloaded the latest version of MapTools.
I had a whole day set aside to do it but that got ate up by an emergency at work.
